ps2emu

A PS2 emulator written from scratch in C++20. It needs no BIOS
dump: the EE and IOP kernels and the rom0 modules are emulated at
a high level.

Status As of 2026-09-30, milestones M0 to M8 are done and M9
(speed) is in progress. Of 30 retail games tested, 22
reach a title screen or menu, 9 give the player control,
and Disgaea plays 36,000 frames of scripted play with a
save and a load. Regression target: Disgaea (SLUS-20666).

Speed Not real time on the heavy games yet. Bench on a Ryzen 9
9950X3D with the JIT and 6 GS threads, average fps:
Disgaea 3D 74, Kingdom Hearts II 22, God of War II 9.
The M9 goal is 59.94 average and 55 at the 1% low on
God of War II and Kingdom Hearts II.

Requires A game image: .iso, .bin/.cue or .chd. No BIOS. Game
          images are not supplied.

Usage ps2emu play game.chd
          ps2emu run game.chd --frames 600

play opens a window and is in the Windows build only.
run is headless and is what the regression suite uses.

Compatibility (compat.txt, one line per title)

playable start to finish at full speed
in-game plays, with glitches or slowdown
  menus reaches menus, not gameplay
  boots shows something, then stops
  untested no entry yet
